Have you ever thought of trying blue light acne treatment for your acne? Though this skin condition is not fatal, it can cause serious damage to both teen and adult skin, and ruin your self-image.
Since acne is so widespread, there are a number of acne cure treatment methods, all promising the same results. One such highly specialized treatment has been introduced by dermatologists where acne and its scars can be cleared cosmetically.
It is known as photodynamic therapy or blue light acne treatment. An acne patient lies or sits down in front of a special light for roughly 15 to 30 minutes, every week for three to eight weeks straight, until the acne is removed. It works by focusing a blue light-wave which zaps bacteria known to cause acne.
Occasionally Levulan - an ointment - is applied during the acne light treatment. This cream may cause your skin to redden and then crust, but it is said to aid in the reduction of acne and any scars. Photodynamic therapy may have been around since the seventies, but it has only recently been used as an acne treatment.
Benefits of Blue Light Acne Treatment
Blue light acne treatment is still relatively new and the long-term side-effects are not known. Though, there are countless immediate benefits to this variety of skin therapy.
Firstly, using a blue light acne treatment clinic is a bonus if other acne cures give you side-effects. Acne antibiotics are too often used by patients to clear their acne, but the long-term use of antibiotics tends to break down their immune system, making them susceptible to other illnesses. Another acne cure - Accutane - is widely know to make you really depressed and even suicidal, and cause birth defects for pregnant women.
Number two - If you always forget to take your antibiotics or apply that acne cream, then blue light acne treatment is a great alternative.
Thirdly, this acne cure treatment is a good alternative for people who have not had success with other cures. If your body resists acne antibiotics or ointments, at least you now have another option.
A fourth pro is that household blue and red acne light treatment kits have been prepared. For an affordable cost, acne patients can sort out acne in their own homes. It is unknown if these home-based kits are as helpful as clinical blue light treatment and they are definitely not as strong.
If blue light acne treatment is something that you cannot afford employing, then it is best to choose an affordable, natural cure for acne with not many side-effects.
